Well guess what, I’ve tried both. I started off in community college as a biology major. Studied for hours on end only to fail (bomb) my classes. This was despite seeing my professor frequently for help. I realized I would never survive this major if I continued. But that wasn’t the only class I struggled in. I also struggled in college algebra and failed my first few exams. The only reason I passed that class was because my teacher set me up in a private room with my backpack still with me (my guess was she wanted me to go ahead and cheat without explicitly saying for me to). I ended up switching majors and only faired a little better. I took a little break from school, and then a year later I ended up in a relationship with a girl from Vietnam who was majoring in Chemical Engineering. I…
Help, I need to leave
I work for my exes parents on their farm and I need to leave. I've worked there for 4yrs Idk how to quit. It feels impossible, ik they're gonna be pissed. And short handed than and honestly I don't think they expect to me to leave for a very long time. I have a 4h steer on their farm I'm gonna have to forfeit as well. How do I tell them? How much notice do they need? I've never quit a job before
Target is hell according to this.
That will have to be a no.
I was an assistant at my company. I applied for and received a promotion. I did well as a manager (meaning I hit my sales goals). I’ve been in my new role for 5 months already. I was “temporarily” demoted today “until mid-July or so” to help my old manager and do my old job since I know the market while another manager oversees my managerial duties. My initial reaction: WTF?! I don’t miss my old job. I already paid my dues to get to where I am. I don’t want to backtrack. I want to keep growing in this role. Later considerations: For meeting budget, I’m due a bonus at the end of June. Also, I get some company stock. To my knowledge, my position and pay aren’t changing. I’ll make more than I did when I did the job the first time. Here are the options I feel…
How I doubled my pay
I'm able to talk about this now since it's been a couple of months since this all happened. I've been working at a company for a year and I noticed there was alot of nepitism within the company. I could see a big divide between the people that were making six figures in the company and everyone else. It seemed like most people were in a rut and never really got anywhere. Many people quit before I joined and others quit after I joined. They always ran our staff low and I couldn't see myself working there any longer. My boss left someone's yearly review out on the open next to the printer. I saw the person stated that they should be making way more due to the average and I knew it was for someone that had years of experience working in the position. I didn't want to work…
So I work in banking (not my choice but in London it’s an easy job to get). So I want for an interview (each last an hour), first guy wanted to hire me in the spot (direct manager), second person (his manager ) told me I will be fine in the last interview, just be myself. 3rd interview was ok, not amazing, but no problem. 4 interview, someone I will never interact with in the role didn’t like the answer to one of his questions. He asked for a textbook definition of something. Excuse me wtf, I have 12 years experience in the industry and you are offering me a 3rd basic rate (more after bonus) I am so extremely pissed. 4 hours of my time and some cunt I will never interact with is the reason I don’t get the job. If anyone is still reading don’t even bother…
