Just wanted to post here about how great this show is and that I strongly recommend everyone here watch it. There is incredibly eye opening, widely unknown discussion of how the government affects everyday Americans and how formerly good policies now only serve corporate elites and how the government screws over everyday people and has for a while. It’s produced by Barack Obama, narrated and explained by Adam Conover (which means comedy, yay!), about how fucked we all are right now and how the government got us here.

I’ve heard tax the rich rhetoric but seriously something needs to be done about pro athletes pay. The shit is ridiculous. People work in fast food, grocery stores, gas stations, construction and have to pull teeth to get better pay. Even doctors (literal human mechanics) make 6 figures AND have a shit ton of schooling to pay. But Lebron makes $41,000,000 a year while being a “non essential” worker (ode to Covina 19). Do fans not realize those “heroes” of theirs are LAUGHING at them everytime they come to watch a game? A quick thought experiment: All grocery stores shut down for a week what happens? The NBA Finals get cancelled for abrupt pay reductions what happens? Sports athletes are one of the biggest things wrong with this country. Not “lazy” people (who happen to work two full time jobs that contribute to day to day operations of society).

I apply to a gas station near called Loves. Hours later I get a call telling me that I got the job and that I started on Tuesday. I questioned why they didn't interview me before, but figured that they just needed workers fast due to the fact that the station was built only a few days ago. I get a call hours before my 'shift' telling me that my name got mixed up with a similar one, and that i didn't really get the job. Now, this was unexusable due to my last name being an outlier. It is long and very uncommon. I asked them if I can come in for an interview, and they say I can. I do, and the interview only lasted for 10 minutes. I could tell I wasn't getting the job due to the very audible disapproving grunts the manager would make towards…

I'm not sure what to do, so I came here to ask. I've caught my boss lying on four occasions in the last week. Before this, I always thought of him as a friend and held him in high regard. We came up the ranks together and I was super excited about his promotion until he changed. I'm really not sure how to protect myself with a deceitful superior. Get as much in writing yes. Try to have witnesses to important conversations. Is there anything else I can do to protect myself? I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thank you.

So this was fun, I was just talking with a co-worker having a short break and my manager walks in all mad, said “he asked me to do something and I still haven't done it” and that “the guy that worked here before me would do everything straight away he told him to do” He said this infront of everyone. I told him that since I work there a lot has changed and that I had to make a lot of updates to the system because the guy before me made a huge mess. I'm a purchaser, and I want a automated system that tells me when our stock is running low and I need to order new items, but this will only work if the prices and information in the system are correct. So conclusion I have more to do besides just ordering whatever he tells me to order…

I'm a coordinator at a language school (I'm in Brazil btw), when I got promoted a year ago, I was so happy and I loved my new position, I felt like I was really making a difference…. But now my boss has showed her true colors and I can't stand it anymore. I just really wanna get another job and walk away so badly, but I need the money. My boss does not trust me at all, which prevents me from doing my job. You'd think she'd talk to me and give feedback but absolutely not. She is a passive-aggressive woman who pretends to be nice and caring but in reality she is making my life a living hell!!! I hate it so much having to go to work everyday. Even when something nice happens I feel numb/sad/undeserving…. The disrespect that I get everyday is absurd! Just needed to vent…

when my manger changed positions, i received a new manager and signed a document acknowledging so. we have meetings i usually miss due to workload and i pick up tid bits here and there since they dont provide logs for them exept some power point presentations. i guess in one i missed my boss appointed someone to help her out. in a meeting they requested that all change be placed into the safe every night. i missed it and so did other locations and 6 months later i get a complaint from a colleague because my new boss's appointed help moved things around without saying anything. i call my boss, everything is taken care of, i request to be notified first to tell my team. were good. all on the same page. that is until end of my closing shift her appointed help calls me to “discuss what happened” im…

53 Years old. Been working on the books since age 18. See my social Security report. If I get disability retirement, I get approx $2k a month. If I retire at age 62, I get $2k monthly. less than half of my working salary. So screwed..
