Just got my 4 year degree in IT when I started this government job. I worked contract, left by 2, it was great. Then I got a permanent position. Constant on call, working during emergencies (and staying nights if the roads WASH AWAY), and the daily torture of constant anxiety and a boss who was already ready to flip his switch and lose his mind. ​ Today, I visited. Recent got a job at papa johns. Working without a schedule til next week making 10.50 an hour. Boss calls me saying they need me in at 2; No issue get dressed head over. Ask him what time I can clock out. He says 8, I work til 8 and go to clock out and he asks if I can stay longer. I say no he gets upset and says not to let it happen again. He gave me the time we close at 9. Is this normal?

I just started a new job and had to call in sick one month into starting. I apologized profusely multiple times, and provided a note from my doctor excusing my absence (I was really sick!) today my boss chastised me for a job that took me and another new hire too long to do (we were assigned this job together). He said “Its unacceptable, and I was going to talk to you about it Monday, but you were conveniently sick last week.” He has the doctors note. My doctors number and signature are on there in case he felt the need to verify. Before you all get up in arms, ask yourself this: do we really want to just be another subreddit that posts screenshots of tweets and articles? Are we really going to make our standards the same as subs like r/conspiracy? Why are our standards not higher than the “Vaccines are gonna kill off 75% of the population and cause the Great Reset” crowd? I personally think it completely devalues the cause when the standards for a post on this subreddit are that low. I see posts on here that are factually questionable at best (almost always tweets). We don't need to twist the facts. They speak for themselves.
