I got a better job offer and I quit last Friday with no notice because they just didn’t deserve to have one. I was not sure at the beginning, leaving a job just like that, but now I believe it was the best option. ( they didn’t even ask why I was leaving or offered anything to make me stay) The owner ask me to come back on Tuesday just to explain how everything works and how it was organized and I really wanted to return the keys ( because he was not able to picked them on the same Friday) so I said -ok no problem please let me know when you are going to be here to come – but he insist on doing the meeting at any time it was easier for me. Boss is a narcissistic AH
We’ve been mostly remote but occasionally must come into the office. Last Thursday was such a day and later that night I saw an email about a covid exposure in the office but I guess they couldn’t tell us who. The next day I found out it was one of my bosses. Despite having minimal contact I came down with covid a 3 days later. The part that pisses me off is he knew he was sick! He felt rundown but didn’t tell anyone but did a rapid test when he got home. Then the narcissistic ahole – today dared send an email he was behind on some things bc he wasn’t feeling well. To which I responded letting him know since I was exposed to him on Thursday I tested positive over the holiday weekend and I was struggling bc covid or any sickness sucks. He just wrote back…
I tried to get food at a Wendys and it was just straightup just closed at dinnertime. I wasn't even mad, bc it means the employees were being treated so badly that they all quit. That shit made my day. My workplace's staffing has steadily gotten worse and I'm absolutely LIVING for it. They're about to take another hit in staffing soon. We get the most entitled, rudest customers ever so just thinking theyre gonna be tugging on locked doors pretty soon is really cathartic for me. Improve the working conditions and pay or no one will work for you. Treat service staff with respect.

Pretty much what the title says. I come in first every day, leave last every night. I'm “on salary,” so I get paid for working 40 hours even when the job demands 50 business hours and up to 60 hours based on the workload. I was brought on to help improve our performance metrics after my shop lost a HUGE account. It's taken a year but I got us there. We got the account back starting June 1. I asked for a raise in November. I was told there wasn't “room in the budget” for the raise I wanted. Got less than 1/3 of what I asked for. I started putting in applications the same day I signed the raise contract in January. There was no “non-compete” clause so I figured why not? Finally found a position I liked this month. Got hired and signed the offer letter 10 days…
