I work at a mom and pop gas station in a Texas small town. I'm from the west coast. I've worked in production, hospitality, cleaning, and a couple big box stores. All of them sucked. Filled with corporate assholes. Managers didn't care about you, I'm sure you all know the drill. His sons come by to check on me when I work by myself. They get gas for free, any nicotine products for free, snacks and whatever else for their friends at no charge. So, ever since I got sick with covid 19 and needed to take 6 months off to care for my failing kidneys and heart, my nurse manager has been harassing me and retaliating against me. I previously had all 5/5 on my performance reviews and now have 2/5 on most of my things. For many of the reasons, she wrote in complete lies and I have emails and evidence with the truth. “no one wants to work” but looking for a new job and no one wants to hire. On top of that, the applications for these jobs want information on things that are irrelevant. Like, why do you need to know the address, down to the apartment numbers, of my references??? I don't even know the addresses of my previous coworkers or managers. That's weird! I don't go to their houses! Or they want to know the previous salary of my last 5 jobs? WHY??? That goes all the way back to the early 2010s when the minimum wage was like $7 less than it is now!
