My boss just told me good news I got your schedule extended from 12 to 14 hours. My thought is yay at least I’ll die from falling asleep otw home.

Today is the last straw. To be honest it’s been a long time coming but I’m finally quitting my job tomorrow. I (20f) work part time at a small restaurant where I’ve worked since I was 16. I was clocked out of my shift early (over staffing because booking cancelled) and was waiting for my cousin to finish his shift so I could drop him home, I was talking to my friend the bartender while she was closing down when chef called service for some desert waiting on the pass, when I didn’t immediately move he started shouting from the kitchen at me to take the food and wouldn’t let me explain that I was finished and was calling to one of my colleagues to take the deserts, so I just ignored him and finished my conversation. 15- 20 minutes later i was still at the bar when my manager…

Throwaway, for reasons that will be clear soon. So I applied and secured a job sometime mid last year, and during the application process the company asked for my previous payslips, now this is not illegal in my country and fairly common, especially my position is not an executive position. The role is highly specialised and not many people can do it, and since the company (an MNC) was setting up a new manufacturing plant in my region, they wanted experienced hands for the start up of the plant. Anyway, from my previous company, I already felt that I was underpaid, and I wanted my new salary to be based on my skills and experience and not my previous pay. I'm working on a presentation on toxic work environments and would be thankful for some input. What makes a boss bad? What traits do they have or what things do they do or not do that contributes to your opinion of them being a toxic manager? Thank you for your thoughts

I (19f) used to work at this restaurant located on a very well known University. I met this manager (he’s over 30 years old) who I looked up to at first as I wanted to be a manger some day as well. He would constantly ask if I wanted to drink and smoke with him until I eventually gave in. We would drink in the parking lot along with other employees under the legal age of 21 in my state both females and males. After being terminated from this place I realized how stupid I was and feared that he might continue doing this to minors. I reported him to the owners and district manager and they totally ingnored me and he still continues to work at this place.
