I started an entry level role at my company in January of 2022. About 2-3 months in, a girl (one role above me) on my team quit. They trained me to replace her immediately. Her job was indeed NOT entry level (1 person billing and payroll department for over 200 employees), takes about 3x longer than the role I was hired to do, and is all around incredibly stressful and time consuming. Her job also paid $12,000 more than what I am making. I was trained with almost no support, and often had 8-12 hour days teaching myself this new role. My days went from being a few hours long, to at least 8 hours now. I did not receive a raise, or frankly anything, for my new role. no one is talking about how discriminative is the AI job hiring prosses that if you don't use exactly the correct word you will end up in the trash bin without even a single person looking at it. my degree isn't as common as it use to be and 100% of the time i can never find it on drop down menu and when i apply at jobs that don't use AI services i get calls back almost right away vs jobs that use AI. additionally compagnies need to lower their standards when no one is qualify but all they are looking for is 10 years experience.I'm kinda tired of applying after over 100 resume sent and only 2 call back.

We had these absolutely uncomfortable stools we would bring out to the cash when it wasn’t busy, a newer employee asked for better seats since the stools hurt to sit on and the stools were removed because we weren’t supposed to sit. Break room has an L section on the wall that is considered the “break room seat” which is only worse. We are often not busy and every now and again I take a bathroom break just to sit, today I came back out and apologized to my co workers for taking longer in the bathroom as I was taking a seat. They laughed and told me they do the same Seriously though, I find it difficult to believe employees sitting pushes customers away. Was brought into boss office with a frantic look on his face. Recently I put in my notice about leaving company for 35%pay increase and much much better benefit package. His response today was what would get you to stay? Another week Vaca? He said he can't give me pay I'm being offered and but didn't give me a number of what he could give me. If all goes well I'd be making what I was offered in a year and a half a current employer. But I stated it would be hard to stay for anything less since I can go make that money now and have so much better benefits for my family.
