The new starting pay is 25 cents MORE than what I was about to make as a permanent lead position. What the fuck?

local pizza place…
When I was in the seventh or eighth grade (this was like 20+ years ago), I attended Catholic school and my religion teacher's husband had passed away during the school year. When she requested time off for the funeral, the school denied her request. I guess the school didn't even offer those typical three days off for a death in the family like most employers do. So the day of the service (during the work/school week), she loaded the class into a bus and took us on an impromptu “field trip” to her own husband's funeral. We all sat in the last pew in the church and felt awkward as hell because every single person in the family looked at us and wondered why there was a dozen schoolchildren in the back of the church. On one hand, I thought it was pretty badass that she essentially kidnapped us so…
Younger generations have had to compete in an environment of e-commerce, rising costs, uncertainties, workplace unknowns, confusion, and no guarantees.
Today’s parents too soft
smoke shop was robbed, wasn’t told
I (21f) have worked in a smoke shop for about a month now, a small chain store. last week at 4am someone broke in and tried to steal the safe, but failed. no one but my ASM, Manager, and the store owner knew. they replaced the door and told no one until i asked where the hours on the door had went. this was that day. Why were we not told? Why did we go in the same day? What of the robber had come back with a gun while we were open? Wtf???
I have to vent about work
My work has simply refused for me to have the days off I requested, I will not be in the country and I gave them the correct few weeks notice. I miss my family so much this has been the final nail in the coffin for me. I'm genuinely enraged.
I’ve worked with a tutoring company for around 3 years as a freelance tutor. I really like my job because it’s flexible and not super demanding, plus they pay well. However, this year they want us to get fingerprint testing and they said they’ll only reimburse us after one month of working this fall, even though I’ve worked with them for nearly two semesters now. It’s $65 to get the test. Why do we have to pay to work????
