They're going to catch me for the burger king, but I've been waiting for 2 weeks and they still haven't sent me the contract, does anyone know if I have to wait for them to call me or will I get the contract by mail? There is a lot of information missing and the person in charge explains it very badly.

Uh-oh I fucked up
So I indeed applied to a sales job awhile ago and got it. Left my last job that was horribly abusive which is good. But it’s commission I’ve worked 68 hours and only made 400 where should I apply next? I just want something easy to pay the bills. Any advice and or motivation is appreciated y’all.
I’m a little bit sick of my company
I work in this company for 2 years already. The story is short but hear me out. I joined our quality department like 1,5 a year ago and I still work here because I enjoy my day to day things. My manager was really really trying hard to get me here because I’m good at my job, I’m one of the best in the department and because of this I get regular promotions but… There was a guy, let’s call him Jordan, he joined us year after me. He is my friend since and I don’t blame him for what happened. Right before him joining my dept. I heard a lot of good things from my manager about me – and about the HUGE plans he has for me to grow in the company. And guess what. Right after Jordan joined all the plans shifted to him. And in the…
My employer took away my flex time and is now making me use my personal pto leave. They said I should be grateful to them. This is blatantly unfair. Then I went thru a horrible HR investigation. Not bc of that but bc of other things. It’s so unfair and I’m viewed as a problem now.
Wanted to vent about my mom’s job
She's always so bitter when she talks about it and it always seems like she's treated terribly being a valuable employee. She works hard every day for many hours. I've been told other staff are always cruel and unfair to her. Her boss recently denied her a major promotion in favor of someone less experienced than her. It's clear the job doesn't care about her at all, and it's sickening. The worst part is, it doesn't even pay much. The reason why I think she sounds so bitter is because of exhaustion. She's so tired out all the time from work that she's not in a good mood when it comes up. I do what I can to help. Honestly, all of her stories from work have turned me against the idea of working. Why work a job where people are so cruel and superiors can deny you life-changing opportunities…
I work for a pretty large company and our department has high turnover. Usually, they give us raises once per year in the 2-5% ballpark and base it on “performance” when in actuality, its based on tenure. Anyway, the company for the last six months have been giving us 3% raises each quarter just to keep up with the payrate that new hires get solely based on tenure. This essentially is amounting to us seeing an 9% raise over the course of 6 months. Whereas normally we'd get such a pitiful amount it wouldn't be noticed. Should I be offended by this?
For the sake of anonymity, I’m keeping this very vague, but for context, I work for a healthcare company on the patient-facing side of things. For the past 2 years of the hell that is covid, corporate has very rarely given us raises, bonuses, or even appropriate staffing to manage the overburden that’s come from the pandemic. Similar companies/positions around us earn much more, so obviously, their employee retention has dropped significantly and many employees are leaving, largely due to the severe short staffing as well. So they released a stay bonus— if you sign a contract to stay employed at the company for 6 more months, you receive a bonus, and if you quit during that time period, you have to pay back the gross amount. Not really what we’ve asked for, but okay. Essentially, nearly half of the company didn’t sign up for the bonus by the time…
Gross Robot Policies For Humans
Walking home from the bar. Stopped at 7 Eleven. The employee was nice but obviously not thrilled to be there. After talking a bit, she told us about the ridiculous policies that included no sitting and essentially no bathroom breaks. She then showed us this list. It's taped to the register and expected of the employees to use it for each customer. Just another example of corporations treating their employees like robots and assuming the customers want the same. Chatting with her made my night better and I hope I was able to give her some respite from the monotony. https://preview.redd.it/r8chjl3ewze91.jpg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=94271a150e671a31af29b0dd0950e7f7dce29739
Glad to know you guys exist!
I've been thinking alone about this for a while now. My totally uneducated guess is that this (depending on the country) 8 hours/day work system was created because back in the day it was needed for most companies to be viable. Otherwise the profit wouldn't be enough for them to pay everybody and expand and get rich all the good stuff. But now with all the automation, and technology I can't help but feel exploited and scammed by the system. They don't need us to work that much anymore , heck I bet we could have a fully functioning society with people working 3 hours a day. Also why are so many people living wonderful Instagram lives while we spend at minimum 45 hours a week doing something we all despise? Aren't we paying for the the extravagance of the rich? I'm not in the left, I don't believe in…
You can read the write up CRN did a couple weeks ago here. This is a follow up to the previous /antiwork post that broke this news. Full disclosure, I work two levels away from CEO Fred. It’s known in the executive management circles he is right-wing narcissist. I don’t engage in political discussions at work – most of the employees in Miami have Trump stickers on their cars. I need the job, and it pays well. So, I shut up and do what I have to do. Last week, we were told to like and comment on posts posted by the CEO and the company’s LinkedIn account. Employees, especially from the newly acquired Datto company received slack messages from their managers to socialize pictures taken with CEO on LinkedIn. I am encourage to add positive commentary. Eg. The best is yet to come. Kaseya/Datto is better together. My direct…
