I worked for a company for four years was promoted 3 times never had a bad review or negative mark and was fired via text while on vacation. I’ve created a list of some of the times I should have left but made excuses for the company instead

-When my company was involved in a racism lawsuit and wouldn’t own up to any wrongdoing -When everyone was expected to work ridiculous hours and roles way outside of normal expectations -When a female coworker had her butt grabbed on camera- was told it was impossible to tell for sure what happened- and the man kept his job until he got in an altercation with another employee -When employees attempted to unionize and expensive teams were hired to stop them because the open door policy was better than a union -When a coworker started losing feeling in her legs and was forced/tricked into quitting by our boss who had asked her to come work there in the first place -When my boss started giving prescription anxiety meds out when employees got stressed -When I had a doctors note saying it wasn’t safe for me to come into work and I…

overtime in norway

hello, i wanted to ask some questions about overtime in norway if it's OK. my cousin works in a restaurant (chef) and when we were talking about pay he mention his overtime. for me it sounded a bit sketchy so I'm here for some help. first of all when they clock in they use their codes to track hours. so overtime counts when you work 160 hours in a month and up. the restaurant has 2 workplaces. same restaurant, same company it's just the place is different. they send some people to back and forth. in one place he worked about 145 hours and in the second he worked for about 70-80. the problem is the codes he gets from each place is different. when he gets his payslip, there's 2 different ones for each place. so just counting that he's basically not getting paid about 1.2k euros a month.…

I see this line of thinking in the comments all the time to justify slave wages and shitty work conditions cause “you can always pull yourself up by your bootstraps”, and it’s annoying as hell. Your lived experience does not equal the lived experiences of others.

Employer is forcing me to work in a different location

Our company opened another location and the day it became officially opened the employer notified me that I have to work at that location in addition to the location I was hired for. I explained that no one ever talked to me about that and the new location is 2+ hours of commute from me. It's actually in a different county. Employer won't budge and just sent another email stating that they expect me to be at the new location. What are my actions? I'm in CA.

Questions on Seeking Recourse for Lack of Payment

Hello all, two of my former coworkers and I have been continuously unpaid for work we have done for our company, and after months of excuses and nonpayment we can no longer continue being patient with them. The company is located in Michigan, and while they claim to have sent checks and are always having “issues” with alternative forms of payment, only one of us has been able to claim payment so far, but me and my other coworker continue to be ghosted. The ex-coworker who did receive payment had to email our boss multiple times a day to receive it, and experienced both medical and financial hardships as a result of the nonpayment, including being unable to afford a time-sensitive medical procedure and losing access to household utilities due to lack of payment. While they were finally able to receive their remaining owed payment after implying a threat of…

push through or leave?

i’m a 22 y/o female with 7 years of work experience and 3 years of management experience. i was hired as a part time barista at a chain hotel a few months ago and it started off fine. after my first week, my boss really liked my drive and my experience so he started introducing me as a supervisor and having me run shifts. as of today, my title is food and beverage supervisor yet the computer and my pay rate still says barista. i am making $13/hr for a job that should pay AT LEAST $20. i found out the other supervisors make $16 and asked for a raise, which was declined for not “being in budget”. i complained i am unable to find housing and pay bills and was given overtime hours. on top of a full 50 hour schedule as a senior in college, there is no…

idk just wanted to share this

So i am 21 y/o, a diploma graduate and currently working as a waiter for a catering company. I need money for my degree, don't want to trouble my parents hence i'm working there. Idk how to explain this stuff since i'm not really good at english.. Anyway i've been working there for almost 2 months, they provide hostel and transportation for employees to go to the workplace. But the problem is, the amount of salary and workloads are ridiculous. Plus we don't have OT (over time) even though we literally work for more than 10 hours a day when there are so many people to serve. We usually wake up at 3.30 am and go home at 9 pm, but if we need to serve vip and vvip, we go back home at 1 am :') i'm trying my best here even though i feel burnout. We only got…
