Anonymous Resume

I was wondering if there were any hiring sites that somewhat allow you to post your resume anonymously… Basically it’s been rumored throughout my work that the corporate office monitors hiring sites and will fire anyone who they see posting on them looking for a job. Obviously that above statement should make it pretty clear the type of hostile work environment I’m dealing with. But I am somewhat higher up within the management chain and make fairly good money, and can’t really afford to lose my job while looking for another one. So like stated at the beginning, does anyone have any ideas on ways to look for a new career path while preserving my current revenue streams?

This “manager” is the epitome of how exploitative the service industry is, while saying no one wants to work/labor shortage bs.

Why are there so many people fighting to get rid of remote work?

This is a genuine question because I see a ton of posts of articles about employers wanting their employees in person but I don’t get it. Wouldn’t it make more sense to do remote because now your utility expenses are much lower due to people being at home? For teaching I kind of get it because it’s easy to lose a kids attention when they can just mute you but for other things I just don’t get it.

My boss falsely accused me of slander

So our store has been having issues with our manager for aaaages now and we finally as a staff took a list of issues to our area manager. Less than a week after that was handed in, so get called to the office and told “an anonymous complaint” has come in and that it basically amounts to me “slandering the company.” He refused to show me the complaint or give me any details on it because “HR wants to keep it anonymous.” He also then jumped to justifying the issues we gave our area manager, trying to claim none of the issues we had were “that bad” So I got ahold of our area manager and spoke with her, turns out the “complaint” was an email sent to her and him that said head office had heard I was upset and wanted him to talk to me. Nothing about slander,…

Man, I don’t want to work

This is a throwaway account just to post this, mainly because I feel ashamed of thinking this since the whole “become a productive member of society and contribute” thing has been instill in me since I was young. I hate work. Even the easiest of jobs suck. It feels like a drag. Fuck contributing to society lol. Sometimes, I get the idea of just going homeless and live in a car. Work for maybe, 2-3 months, collect some savings then just go live a quiet, homeless life in my car, or maybe even go traveling somewhere, then repeat when I'm low on money. Just want to let it out. Man, fuck work. Even right now, I want to just call out and enjoy my day off

Job started monitoring screens

My partner and I work from home in the same call centre job. He's clocked on today and went to check his evaluations (they review our calls randomly to check we're meeting requirements which already are ridiculous), and now it shows our screen. the entire screen. they're recording our laptop and didn't give us any warning or let us know, and now we can't do anything without the risk of employers seeing it. it's not like we're doing anything NSFW or wrong on there, but we vent through group google messages or rant in the notepad about racist abusive customers on call, and now we can't do anything except answer calls notes answer calls notes. feels like a massive invasion of privacy in an already shitty job, I'm sure it's legal and lots of places do it but feeling an awful lot like 1984 rn……

Does anyone else think companies are hiring more teenagers so they don’t have to pay adults a living wage and benefits?

I'm not just talking about the customer service or food industry but any job that can get away with using younger people. I realized this after my friend who lives across the US from me was venting that her work has been keeping the wage so low only young adults with well off parents could feel like they're making a “decent” amount. This affects all of the higher up positions because no one makes more than $16.50 an hour and you can't get a raise without a promotion. Even then they are hiring more part time, seasonal workers with no benefits. If you're lucky they'll keep you because it's a chosen career and only if the job is open. They've basically stopped hiring anyone above the age of 24. So of course they're hiring people who either A., need to build relevant experience on their resumes and have no where…
