Company is selling its corporate HQ and yet will still force us back to the office.

The company I work for is selling its corporate HQ and yet will still force us back to the office. It doesn't make sense, all this talk from the leadership team about running a low cost business and now they're going to rent back office space from the people they're selling to so they can make us come back to the office. The company has been run successfully from everyone's home since the beginning of the pandemic and there was no talk whatsoever about returning. Then there's a VP-level change and suddenly something like 200 people are going to have to commute to work. And for what? They say it's for community and collaboration…That's all. Nothing actionable, not because our job requires it, not because anyone asked to return… Community and collaboration. Oh and the kicker is it's only the people under this VP that will return. 75% of the…

For someone that really enjoys their job, it really hurts when someone says that your job is pointless and don’t do anything.

I'm brand new to a manufacturing engineering position that was left neglected for the past 3 years. (Old guy was laid off due to covid). Now there's a pile of shit of unresolved problems from the last 3 years, and I'm still trying to learn and pick though it. I was chewed out today by a technician for not fixing obviously broken procedures that I only just learnt about. They went on to tell me that my position is pointless and it's not worth their breath telling me what's wrong or broken because I won't fix it anyway. Moral is at an all time low now, and I feel like everything I do it met with more resistance and hate. I've only been in this position for 3 months, and I'm just realizing how bad things are in Industrial United States.

I’m Anti Work, but Antiwork is hard to identify with now

This just really isn’t the same sub I started following when I joined Reddit a year ago. I used to believe in this sub. I used to think we were a movement and we could accomplish things. That sense of achievement evaporated after the Fox News incident, but I still thought we were on to something here. Now though half the posts aren’t even about a job someone actually has, it’s a shitty sign, ridiculous application, Nazi executive on LinkedIn, or a screenshot of Twitter. Seeing every single sign that says “minimum wage, woke need not apply” they start to feel like shitposts. The posts that actually are about someone’s job seem to be centered around the office. Workplace politics, emails, WFH, “Quiet quitting”, etc. Those aren’t something I’ve ever identified with. I’ve never sent my boss an email. I work in a kitchen so my job can’t be done…

Advice Appreciated! 100% of workers down to strike

So a company that I am a contractor for, I once was a GM but moved down voluntarily for work life balance. Situated in CO, our company severely underpays us, as contractors. Every single employee has agreed to strike and is looking to me to lead, as I use to manage but didn't stick with management. We have alot of power over the company, they will not be able to function for a day without 3 of us, let alone everyone (a dozen or so “contractors”) I really need advice because they would like to pull the trigger soon but I was hoping for legal or general advice to strike. Whether it be creating a union and that process or just notifying the owner / hr that we are effectively striking until our demands our met. (Basically guaranteeing minimum wage) thanks in advance

Workers Comp-WA State

The doctor has given me more restrictions. But no luck in receiving timeloss because I accepted light duty and stopped back in June. Counselor says the best bet will be to get a job and maybe if they get to talk about surgery they might reinstate timeloss. Voc Rehab will be closing soon. What a bunch of crooks. My mistake was joining a workers union. Why does the US prioritizes big money for big corporation but enact laws to screw their workers? I wouldn't wish my worse enemy all pain with a herniated discs and having to deal with this unlawful bs.
