https://youtu.be/J3Xe1kX7Wsc Tim Wise's excellent explanation of The Pathology Of Privilege and how it was the Elites who created all this that we're working against in this sub and continue to reinforce it and expand it in almost every aspect of human life today. How racism is used not only to control them, but also those with a tiny amount of privilege in comparison to the Elites. His brutal takedown of bosses and capital in the middle is especially relevant.

Time off has ‘dissappeared’
I had accrued 1 day of 'personal' and 3 days of 'vacation'. Somehow, on this check, it's all gone. My supervisor states she's 'never seen anything like this'. Personally, I'm seeing red. I asked my supervisor if this was something I would need to look out for in the future, if my earn time off would just disappear and she assured me it wouldn't. Like I believe that. I've emailed her supervisor, and the head of hr, with screenshots of my pay stubs. If this isn't taken care of within the next 24 hours I'm going to the labor board. If anyone cares about this, I will post updates.
Question about time fraud
I got hired at my job in april 2021. I work as a server at a nursing home from 4 pm to 7 pm, which means my job is on a schedule. I serve the residents and the dining room closes at 6 pm. When i began, I was trained and told I can stay on the clock until 7. Managers said the same. Manager is now saying it’s time fraud. Are they right?
I feel like this idea could work but I've never been in a union and I don't know the logistics of how they work. The whole idea of creating unions seems like it could be relatively streamlined which could conceivable make negotiating much easier and much faster.
I started working at the front desk of a Hampton Inn in late August. I am taking a year off from school and this is literally just my money maker and a way for me to not lose my mind while I'm stuck in my tiny-ass hometown for a year. The first or second week there, like before I even finished training, I had submitted a time off request for this past week Wed-Sun because I knew I would be gone for Thanksgiving. It was approved, and all was well, or so I thought. As the date came closer, I noticed on the schedule that I had been scheduled for the seven days leading up to my time off, even though I'm part-time and I informed them when I started that 4 days a week was the maximum I was willing to work (every other week or so they'll schedule…
Pretty sure this is illegal.
So today is my day off. I know this for a fact since I had Thursday instead of Wednesday off for Thanksgiving last week and my shift was to go back to normal. About halfway through a work day, at exactly 1:00pm I get a call from one of my team leads, I decide I don’t want to deal with it and don’t pickup. I figured it’s either a question of what I did yesterday or if I can come in today. So, I check my schedule. Guess what I see for 1:01pm? A “last updated” message over my new schedule. Meaning my schedule was updated by a manager at 1:01pm… To start working today… at 10am. That’s my normal starting time. but this means that I was absolutely fine until the second that schedule changed and now I “qualify” for attendance penalties on a “no call, no show” level.…
Found my first one in the wild
So he’s fired? Get my money to!
Happened a few years back. Working in a fab shop preparing for a shutdown at a nuclear plant. They had scheduled and needed 20 welders for the outage. Managed to test and fail close to 30. In the end of the testing there was 3 welders left including myself. Great bunch of guys. We had a good time. Foreman was great. Crew was fun. Work was nice. Only problem. The superintendent thought he was the foreman. This causes frustration for obvious reasons. Our foreman would give us our daily assignments and we would go about our day. Then this superintendent would walk in and tell us to do something completely different. We took the time to explain to him he needs to get the foreman and use the chain of command so we are on the same page. This went on for about 2 weeks with daily events. Everyone including…
Just two hours on the floor.
https://www.boredpanda.com/starbucks-barista-crying-overworked-8-hour-shift/ I'd love to see one of these blow hard pundits work 2 hours in a busy Starbucks. They would NEVER make it.
