I’ll try to make this as short as possible as I am in a situation I’ve never been in before with my previous employer through the years fortunately. I am in the US and I have had some medical troubles in recent month’s that I ultimately ended up taking short term disability for per recommendation of my boss as I was just short on eligibility for FMLA. The benefit was approved right out of the gate within 7 days of filing it and approved once more prior to it getting closed this month. The strange thing was after my last doctor visit I sent in paperwork to my case manager that showed upcoming visits, treatment plan and even the doctor recommendations to continue short term leave due to inability to adequately perform my job duties. We are required to wear uniforms at work. I’m a 6’3” and 280 lbs guy. The new shirts are short. Like almost above my belt line short. I’m very embarrassed to wear these shirt but when I talked to HR they just said I could get a bigger size. I tried this and they are still too short. I was pretty much told to just deal with it. The things we put up with for money. Smh.

I am a library assistant. I do not have my masters of library science, nor my teaching certification. My resume doesn't list either. I interviewed for and was offered a librarian position at a high school. I made all these plans, was reading materials on collection management, asking for related things for Christmas, not to mention mentally preparing for a job I was terrified but excited to do. I hadn't heard from the school in a week, so I called the principal. He said HR was supposed to call me a week ago, because they “realized” I wasn't qualified. He said I need one year in the school system to qualify. My resume made it very clear that my work has always been in public libraries. I need some advice. I work for a CPA, it's a family business. His son is also a CPA, his wife is certified in payroll (can't remember the initals atm sorry) and his daughter is the receptionist. I do the bookkeeping for all our clients. No other employees. After covid hit in 2020, the tax season ended in june 2021 and CPA and wife called us all in for a meeting. They offered a 4 day work week and a raise to compensate for the loss in hours. I had Fridays off, daughter had Mondays off, boss and wife automatically took Fridays off, and son had the option of Fridays off since he's on salary not hourly. This will be long. A little while ago I mentioned on here that I work in sales and my commission has been cut due to circumstances outside of my control. Now, I’ve been dismissed and I believe it is extremely unfair and would love some opinion. Warning 1 – a few months ago I was working the counter at reception and had a chat with this girl about her training, my training etc which somehow went into mental health, hobbies, her dating life etc. it was a good chat and we talked about training together which I was hoping to could lead to a friendship. Context: I work a hybrid job. I’m normally in the office only 2 days a week, and work the rest of the time from home. We are a very small team and we just hired our 4th member. She was flown in from another country to train for this week and half of next week. Since I am her main trainer, I am expected to be in office this week and next. It’s particularly important that I’m in next week as my boss will be on vacation then and we don’t want to leave the new girl alone in the office. My commute to the office is about 40 min to an hour depending on traffic. Yesterday my boss saw it might snow heavily on Monday night next week. I work for a gardener doing mostly yard maintenance. As those within the industry know, sometimes finding a toilet for your business is tricky. They aren’t always accessible at the property, leading one to find the closest public restroom. This brings us to the supposed dilemma. After a toilet trip my boss approaches me to mention that toilet breaks might have to be recorded and factored in to the hours (I get paid by him by the hour). It seemed like a passive threat but I’m not sure how to go about it if he asks for real. For the record I work hard and execute the tasks to his and our clients satisfaction. He invoices them for the work so technically that’s where the money is coming from. Any advice would be great.
