Job rescinded offer and forgot to tell me

I am a library assistant. I do not have my masters of library science, nor my teaching certification. My resume doesn't list either. I interviewed for and was offered a librarian position at a high school. I made all these plans, was reading materials on collection management, asking for related things for Christmas, not to mention mentally preparing for a job I was terrified but excited to do. I hadn't heard from the school in a week, so I called the principal. He said HR was supposed to call me a week ago, because they “realized” I wasn't qualified. He said I need one year in the school system to qualify. My resume made it very clear that my work has always been in public libraries. I don't have a teaching certification listed, and I haven't worked at a school. So these dullards didn't read my resume, and then just…

Probably dodged a bullet (or two, cuz it's a public high school in Texas, so there's that too).
