We have a totally different economic and societal experience compared to them. Yet they indirectly blame younger generations by withholding access to leadership positions.

'Eddie Hall, the sole candidate running for president of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) against incumbent Dennis Pierce, has been sanctioned by a union disciplinary committee for sharing an article from the World Socialist Web Site. In addition, the committee has recommended that the BLET file a complaint with the Department of Labor against the WSWS on the absurd grounds that its reporting on the union vote constituted election interference.' 'Late Monday night, the WSWS received reports from knowledgeable sources that Hall, a relatively unknown local officer, had won the BLET presidency. The BLET apparatus, however, has inexplicably announced that it is delaying releasing results until sometime next week.' a message from a grind culture type
I'm one of those people that get made fun of a lot on this sub. I say yes to pretty much every side task and weird request at work. I pick up extra shifts, and often pull 16 hour days. I'm lucky that I'm in a job that has well rewarded me for that, but it's not been this way in every job. The secret most guys like this won't tell you is that they are self medicating. I am incredibly mentally ill and have no idea what to do with myself outside of work. Work is the only social interaction I or many other grind culture guys ik get. Honestly the only thing keeping me from killing myself some days is knowing they can't replace me. Work is exploitative, and I'm fueling an addiction. I tip my hat to all of you working to break the cycle.

Gun pulled on me, told to work…
I worked (I quit) at PCC Community Markets and on the way to work I had a gun pulled on me in a road rage incident. I was about 10 mins from work and about 40 mins from home. So I called 911 and they said they would meet me at PCC. When I arrived at work I finally realized what had happened and started crying my eyes out. I went into the store and asked for my lead, when she came to me I told her (while sobbing) what happened. She told me “Oh, ok.. well talk to the cops then clock in and work late”. Me being in shock said “okay..” I then walked out to my car and waited for my boyfriend to arrive. I talked to the cops which didn't help anything and made me feel worse (another story). I will try to keep this as brief as possible, but there’s a lot. I’m at a complete loss right now and I really appreciate anyone that takes the time to read this and give advice. I’m so tired of this. General background info: 1. I’m 20F, have worked in food service for 2 years, and 6 months in retail at my current job.
