For some background context. I worked as a sales rep for this marketing firm. We used Paychex then moved to Paycor. I was forced to leave the position after the office moved further away from me. The last week I worked was only for two days. We get paid everyday, on a two week delay. It’s important to note, I’ve had paycheck issues before and one time the owner told me “even when you leave the company, you’re still getting paid for 2 weeks.” So now, after working 2 days of my last week, I haven’t received my payment for those 2 days. On top of that, after emailing him about why it wouldn’t be direct deposit he tells me I’m removed from payroll when I left. And said he is getting his bookkeeper to write me a check to have it mailed to me for my last two days…

Within the confines of a capitalist society, even if Biden did was the PRO Act and a union was formed, could we actually trust our union leaders to give us better benefits (including medical costs, paid vacations, family leave, and higher wages etc) to talk to our employers and convince them to improve conditions? Since they are working with our employer, are convinced that capitalism is okay and are comfortable with receiving our union dues, it seems like they would do nothing unless the workers forced them to. Also, a strike is a toll on the workers. They lose more money from not working than what they would gain if they continued to accept low wages. What do you all think about this?
[Not]Nice.
I'm not gonna link because I don't want them to get clicks, but believe me when I say every word of this article is asinine. The gist of it is to stay where you are because something else might be worse.
Frankly i find it unfair that your employer can fire you with almost no notice but you have to give a warning in advance.
