I've created hundreds of documents, informational packets, HPI packets, SOPs, templates, etc for the company I work for with little more than a sliver of an idea from my boss to work off of. He let slip in a meeting today that he views the current business as a “laboratory” where “we” create these things to eventually be sold as a package to other companies. His new business plan is to take everything I create, strip it of the company name, and sell it. I make 2k a month after taxes and I don't even get health insurance through them. I fucking hate it here.

Are there any good pieces of fiction or speculation exploring what a post-work society would look like? Books, essays, videos… Really anything.

TL,DR: New boss is threatening to deny time off requests this summer because he is unwilling to fill in for people on shift. Most of us really like our job so we are looking for solutions that don't put our job at risk… …I work in a small office of about 20 people, and we are staffed 24/7 365. Everyone knows that we will work some holidays and weekends and can't get off every day we want. In the past, we had 2 managers plus our old boss who would routinely help out to cover shifts during summer “peak leave” to make sure that people could get as many of their time off requests as possible. However, we have a new boss this year who is refusing to…

How do I even respond to this?
If the French can go through 20 civil wars, we can stock up food and water and not work for 3 weeks. Preferably November. That will hurt ALL of them. For example, amazon made (i think) about 72 billion usd on q4 of 2022. They can stand to loose a few billion pounds. It's not like they can make it illegal to quit a job. Btw, if anyone does think that this is a good idea, plz no riots. We want to kill the corporations, not each other.
I work from 5am to whenever I get off. Today I started my day by working from home at 530 am. Got to the office continued working there until 530 pm. Drove 45 minutes back home to get online and finish work. Boss sends a teams message throwing a fit because it took me 10 minutes to respond to a customers text message.
