I don’t know how to feel about this
“Want lower crime? Reduce poverty”
No, no no. Prisons are mostly privately owned you buffoon. There absolutely needs to be a system in which we can jail offenders for long stretches to enforce slave labor. There needs to be a general salve labor society bent onto each other's throats like an ouroboros to keep them right or left, ignorant that both are pocketing cash from strong corporate entities which actually drives us forward. The problem is education. We don't want informed people; we want obedient workers, therefore we don't reform how schools work as they were a century ago when we wanted good little factory workers. You IDIOT! Don't you understand that we have everything almost in a line? We want soldiers. The best way to do this is entice a young population with a bill that will pay for college and at the same time charge the plebs who don't enlist with life shattering…
NEDA turns off comments
NEDA turns off comments on their Instagram today, after an influx of comments due to then firing some of their Chatline workers and replacing them with a malfunctioning AI, specifically two weeks after the workers Unionized.
Manager at PART TIME job at Sally’s beauty says that it is required for me to work at least one weekend day (Friday or Saturday) every week when it was previously communicated that I can only work 3 days a week (Tuesday’s, Wednesday, thursdays) due to my internship. I literally cannot work outside the days I provided her due to my internship! I’ve communicated to her of my lack of availability on both those days she said I “was required” to work and that I am not able to because of my second job; in response she said she must have documentation of my other job? I’ve been trying to look at California labor laws to see if this is even legal of her to make this request. I agreed to working THREE days, not 4 as my schedule literally does not allow it. In my understanding of a part time…
Tipping is Now Corporate Welfare
Somebody’s angry boss called me today….
So my phone rings and it's an unknown number. I'm bored so I decided to annoy who ever was on the other end. As soon as I say hello I get an angry guy going “Where are you?” I said “Excuse me?” He came back with “Where are you? You were scheduled to open today.” I said “I was? First I've heard of it.” He goes on about how he thought I could be trusted Yada Yada Yada. I finally interrupted him with “Do you know who you're talking to buddy?” He responds with some crap about him being the boss and I better watch how I'm talking to him. I pissed him off some more and finally tell him to fuck off I quit. He gets all spun up and I insult him a couple of more times before hanging up. Laughed my ass off…. there's some poor sucker…
I’m near my breaking point.
I’ll try to start from the beginning. I noticed that one of the managers was having difficulty keeping up with some of the work required of her, so I asked our manager (the one above both of us) if I can take up some of the workload since I have experience. In less than a week, I got a pay raise and now have an additional sets of tasks with a meeting I’m required to attend once a week. I end up finishing the work on time, and I fall behind on some of my original tasks, but that’s to be expected, given the extra work load. She notices this, and thinks that I should be performing the same despite experienced team members leaving and having to pick up more of the shared work that would’ve been completed between me and my other team members. When the position opens up…
So a lot has happened at my job all at once and now I have a long weekend to kinda catch up/mentally cover. I work at a law firm and my boss is usually pretty great in that she complains that no one works as much as she does, but then showers us with gifts and bonuses. My team and I have figured that it's just how she shows affection/gratitude, which tbh is a pretty great way to show affection/gratitude. I work as a “legal writer” where I basically write demand letters, make PowerPoints for mediation and trial, make brochures that go along with the letters and PowerPoints, and a lot of other stuff the attorneys and paralegals don't wanna do. My boss is like an aggressive Leslie Know in that she wants everything we do to be extremely thorough and detailed. It's a great job for people in law…
