I worked so hard to get the job I currently have, but every day I just fuck something up. It's not like I'm even getting better at this point. I feel like my family wasted for me to go to college. So, if I do get fired at the end of my PIP, I'm gonna do it. I'm not doing this to make anyone feel bad, I just don't know if I can come back from this. I have great health insurance. I get paid well. I don't think I can get these benefits anywhere else. People are replaceable. I am replaceable. All my friends will find someone else to fill my void and all my family won't even notice I'm gone.

My father has joined a job which requires him to drive. The conditions are horrifying. He has to be there everyday (7 days a week, no holiday per week). I asked how the work was and he said it was physically tiring. He is 60+ years old and has had a medical spinal problem in the past. His pay is less than 1/5th of what he made before he retired from government desk job. The pension is still coming, 1/2 of what he made before. I don't know why he is putting himself through this for the supposed reason of 'keeping himself busy' and 'not being lazy'. Although my mom has assured me that it wasn't because of me, I do wonder if this is my fault. I had to discontinue my post graduate studies due to health problems. I'm having an appeal hearing because it's within a company's right to appeal your unemployment decision here in america. And if they decide to rule against you, you have to pay that money back. I have documentation that this place fired me after working there for two years because I had some medical things going on. Provided them every doctor note they needed. I even suggested about going on leave but instead, I was fired over a text. I have been through this Gambit before and won. And I think I'm going to record it this time because I think it might help some people . Thoughts ?

Week 1, orientation: The dumbest assumption, miscommunication, and annoyances happened over 1 week. All by 1 man. I was taken to HR to turn in my key blah blah. It would make a long post. Got laid off today due to permanent downsizing with the bank I worked for and my position being eliminated . I got a decent severance but am blindsided and terrified. They were talking about who would take my desk before I even finished packing. Any advice and kind words greatly appreciated.

I can’t change my job at the moment. I just recently moved to a new country, don’t have many connections etc and I can’t just change my job just yet. Trust me, it’s coming. But I need to stay here for at least 6 to 12 more months. Question: how can I survive the toxic work environment I am currently in? The place seems as if it is stuck in 19th century.
