LSS, the company I work for offers a “generous” 14 week paid leave for employees working at least one year. I’ve been working at the company for two years, and upon filing for my leave which I’ll be taking next month, find out I may not be eligible because apparently I’m still considered a “seasonal” employee, even though three months ago I was given a policy that indicated leave would be paid for by the company if it wasn’t provided by my state (it’s not.) I’ve been told they will try to work with me since the company is based in New Jersey, so I may be considered a NJ employee where leave is paid for by state, but I don’t have high hopes and an already seeing where this is going to go. It’s way too late for me to find another job at this point, and I don’t…
Today, two Democrats voted with Republicans to say that not only should student debt relief be repealed, not only should the pause on payments end, but that you should make *retroactive* payments from previous months.Introducing Jared Golden and Marie Gluesenkamp Pérez: pic.twitter.com/5UMPMhLndY— The Debt Collective 🟥 (@StrikeDebt) May 25, 2023
Disclaimer: this story is rooted in hard work, smart saving and investing, & sacrifice. Not a tale from someone who was born or married into money. This author, along with parents and grandparents were all civil servants that held jobs available to anyone, required no special skill or education, if any education was needed at all. I love how people love to say some random person or policy is responsible for their misfortune, when in reality they can’t even be honest with themselves. Yes, inflation is through the roof. Now that we got passed that, I want to share my personal story and let you decide who is to blame: My wife and I bought a 550k home in 2017 on a RN/Civil Service salary. Never had any student loans despite both people eventually earning Masters degrees from private universities. How is this possible you ask? Between my wife and…
Long story short last day voting on a new contract thats crap. Hell bent on slave wage say they can't afford increase yet every 3 days we do the count not them and it about 1mil to 1.5mil each time. Btw its a casino. Also know 80% if staff voting no. Going to be glorious
4 day work week is inevitable people, and holidays will mean we literally work less than the time we are free!
I once read Russell Brands book where he admitted to pretending to have AIDS to get out of work. I'm not expecting that but what outlandish thing have you claimed in order to not show up? We've all had several grandparents die but what takes the cake?
Out of Touch Boss From Ancient Egypt
An ancient Egyptian ushbati had an inscription reading, “If there is any work in the afterlife, you must do it. Behold me whenever you are called. Be watchful at any moment to work there. Plough my fields, carry water and sand to the east and west. Behold me whenever you are called.” So even death isn't a reason to not show up to work?
Hey all I was just fired from my workplace today for misuse of company time. What I would did that was bad supposedly was the last half hour of my shift is for cleanup and shutdown and I can get my cleanup and shutdown done in 5-10 mins since I work in a small area and they let me go for sitting down and waiting to leave instead of cleaning which I also did I just did fast. I tried the EEOC but they have no apointments open at all so I dont really know what to do, Im trying to fight it but I dont know how well its gonna go
