One job I had a manager call me from a personal phone while I was working my full time job to try to reprimand me. I cussed him out, he claimed that I couldn't do that, hung up in his dumbass self, ignored his further calls. … Current job, I always show up early for work, as a delivery driver. Company has 2 way dash cameras but we are told they don't record unless we brake hard, accelerate hard, or hit something. Came into the office , not clocked in, only to be shown a video of me runnable a parking lot stop sign and give a warning, off the clock. I am darn sure I know the legally of it (not legal), but, has this type of thing happened to anyone else? ….. Clarification. The WRITE UP occurred off the clock. I don't drive the company trucks unless I…

American democracy
I think we all at some point met with the micromanaging boss or manager that infuriated us to no end, giving us instructions so specific one would think they were intended to be received by a monkey. I was curious how people would respond to being given more breathing room in the workplace so I wanted to research this topic for my thesis. The survey is strictly Academic so all responses are anonymous. The purpose of this survey is to find out how people respond to be given a more freedom to work with. https://innovationsurvey.webankieta.pl/
My boss keeps calling me before work – before 6AM – (I start work at 9am) for random non urgent things that could have been an email. He calls me on public holidays for things that again could just have been in an email. How can I stop this boomer from doing this? I can't block his number because he has to get a hold of me during work hours. This is my personal phone too mind you and his calls really impact me in my downtime. It brings me right back into the office and takes me ages to calm down again and relax I'm getting so over this. I don't call him back because I refuse to do so on a public holiday (like today) and I'm not paid to be on call!! What advice do you have? I need a Boss Blocker app that blocks a specific…
Former Employer Emailed Happy Birthday
Long story short, I was wrongfully terminated a year and half ago. Due to an ex-girlfriend originally getting me a job at this business. When things went sour and I went my own way by moving out/blocking communication from her and from all platforms. She retaliated and sent a letter of false accusations to said business. She also sent a former friend/former employee to the business to spread false rumors. I of course lost the job in the end when I should of hired an attorney. In the long term I was unable to find another job after landing several interviews at several companies. I have been fortunate enough to build up a consistent cliental through word of mouth and hustling since the time being. This company had the audacity to send a birthday email yesterday that never existed the year prior. I have been in therapy prior to the…
Happy May Day
To all of us who work every day to keep society functioning, I wish a Happy May Day. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Workers%27_Day
I live in a European (non EU) developing country, where this day is considered a holiday. Usually most people don't have to work, and those who do are paid 40% more and get an additional day of PTO because they worked on a holiday. I never had to work on this day, until now because I work for a company located in the US. I was baffled at the fact that this is just a regular day there. The widely held belief is that it dates back to 19th century America, when the workers in Chicago organized a strike to demand an eight-hour workday. And yet, instead of a paid free time for workers to spend it in rememberance of the strike and to compare their current working conditions to those of those times in order to see how much they have progressed (or regressed), the holiday is rescheduled to…

The weirdest thing in manufacturing
TLDR: making things is taking longer and I need the terms and formulas to show the calculations for the situation Good morning all I could use some help from the reddit hive mind. So I work for an aircraft company in the Midwest of America. My town is home to names like Boeing and Spirit so that should narrow it down. My company is both international and yet acts like a ma and pa shop. I swear we do almost “hand made” or artisnal parts as we have little automation. I've been running into a problem though and could use some information. Since we hand produce parts production times can be variable based on what we get from our vendors. My bosses have been on me about my production times and I have explained the problems with piss poor vendor service and my having to correct things so I can…
Don’t work hard because it obviously doesn’t do you any good. I have been doing the lead position without the title or raise for MONTHS and even applied to get trained on another position that I was required to be signed off to be the lead. And this whole time there was no point. I was promised this position as soon as I was signed of on the other one. I’m done today. I’m not doing any extra work, I’m not helping anybody with their messed up machines, I’m not helping get the plant ready for when the next shift gets there. I’m just done. Fuck work. And fuck everybody who knew about this and still had me working my ass off for no damn reason.
