Pretty much what employers want. Craziness.
I'm a tryhard. Not going to sugarcoat it. I like to be busy from the moment I clock in the the moment I clock out. If there isn't enough work I ask for more, because for me work= the day goes by faster. It's not me trying to look better, it's me filling my time. I also genuinely enjoy the work I do, it's rewarding and I'm fairly compensated and have a fantastic boss. They respect my specific boundaries, I don't work overtime. I don't work weekends. I don't do anything or contact anyone for anything, nor do I ever want to be contacted about anything (beyond all staff info) outside of my 8-5 hours. With all that said, it gets frustrating when my two co-workers get mad at me for just doing work. I do my work, I happily do their work to help them out, I don't…

Hospitality is toxic and I’m exhausted.
Just need to rant because these last couple months at my job have increasingly gotten worse. I'm a cook. I asked for a 38hr contract, low pay of the cook braquet and was eager to learn. No one was willing to teach me anything, people slowly became more and more toxic towards me for no other reason than I didn't breathe, sweat and bleed work. I used to not take my breaks during my 7 to 9hr shift, only full 10 to 12hr shifts, mainly because it was frowned upon to and I was denied a few times. Long story short, I'm being bullied at work and I won't be fired because that'd cost them money, but my life has been made miserable because of this. I am burnt out, I'm exhausted and unwell all the time, I have zero motivation to work, especially when my coworkers claim I'm not…
DoorDash Should Change This
If DoorDash changed the verbiage of ‘Tip’ to ‘Bid’ everyone would be much happier campers. A customers mindset will be shifted to “how much am I willing to pay, to have this delivered” vs believing a quality of service is to be expected. Truly speaking in my opinion a Dasher sees a ‘bid’ and decides if the job is worth it. Not (for most) accept a low order and hope it has a decent tip.
Retiring is “Bad”
His first tip is to delay your retirement… more push, to work longer.
