I still have the opportunity to meet and ask for more with HR. But I honestly feel like the wind was knocked out of me and I’ve lost all motivation. Why even promote a person if this is the case? Im a good worker and have gone above and beyond. My boss and his boss, both know I deserve to make more than who I manage, but holy shit the corporate machine just sucks the life right out of you. Technically, I’d be managing their merit increases at the end of year. I know most people would be thrilled for a promotion and a raise, and I’m grateful, but this feels like a gut punch. Anyone experience similar?

Tonight will be the first time I’ll truly get a good nights sleep since 1/5/21 after Dnald Tru*mp has been indicted for his actions of January 6th and all I want to do is relax, sleep and celebrate the lifting of dread and anxiety that has been around me for the last 2+ years. I have 9 personal days as year and I was denied because my boss doesn’t want me celebrating what he calls “a witch-hunt” is there anything I can do? Thank you.

Hey all. Stuck between a rock and a hard place. Need some advice. I recently got hired as a salesman at a small flooring store back in April. The hours are nice and the pay has good potential, but the one thing that throws me off really badly is that the owners, father and son, completely blow up over small things and it makes the work environment very hostile. I dread coming into work most days on account that I still have to interact with my bosses regularly since I’m still training. I can never tell if what i’m going to say will be received well or not. Its gotten to the point where I hold off on turning things in as long as possible in case I accidentally made a mistake and they start screaming over something that could be fixed easily with a bit of guidance. Hey guys my mother got surgery on the 21st of July she's a self employed house cleaner and was told by her physician that she avoid working for 6 weeks. However a few of her customers have already asked her when she could return back to work she plans on taking an additional 2 or 3 weeks off after the recommended 6 weeks nonetheless what would be an appropriate response to her customers who didn't get the memo the first time as she had already told majority of her customers that she be out for an uncertain amount of time ?

So I’m out with Covid from my job that I’m quitting (they’re aware Saturday is my last day). So this morning I notified them that my test was positive and that I still had a fever. Apparently they met with the regional manager about me and one of them accidentally recorded the whole thing and sent it to a group chat with me on it. In the meeting they claimed they don’t believe I have Covid and that I’m lying so I don’t have to come back to work. They also made assumptions about my living situation cause I live with my father and accused me of living off him and not “growing up”. Long story short I responded in the chat saying “For the record my test is positive and I sent you a photo of the positive result”. My girlfriend’s mom is claiming I can sue for defamation.…

This occurred a couple years ago but I still question myself regularly about if I did the right thing. This is a bit long-winded but I want to get all the details down. Basically, I was working a job where I wasn’t making enough and needed full-time hours. I didn’t mind the working environment but it was obvious I wasn’t in the immediate running for a full-time position. Fast-forward a bit and I find a full-time position at another store and they say they’re willing to interview me and get me onboard in the next couple of weeks because they “urgently need someone”. I put my application in and go through the interview process, including a drug test, for the new position. I’m just heartbroken at my situation at this point, I can’t get a decent job! I truly can’t. I have a masters in English literature ( it’s close to saying I have a GED in the US). I’m a foreigner, I feel as soon as requiters read my name. they immediately dismiss any possibility of me even getting an interview. I have tried applying for everything, literally everything and gotten no luck. Last job I applied to was entry level Assistant, it says in the discerption no diploma needed! And I still got the dreadful response of “ thank you for ur interest but we decided to move on with other candidates “.
