I can afford to take a few months hiatus from my job as I barely have any, not finding the word I want so I'll say, financial responsibilities. But I can't unless I quit or get fired? They give me 1 week off a year paid(and I had to use it as sick days 1 month into the year), I can ask for unpaid time off but am not likely to get it (especially consecutively) I look forward to getting sick, its the only excuse I get to stay home for a week or more. At this point I just wanna get fired and take my time applying for new jobs and only accept one when I finally get bored of being stuck at home. I know of at least 3 places I can guarantee myself a similar job to what I have now (not that I enjoy what I'm…

Customer tipping in religious pamphlets…
Respectively fuck off and no thank you. I’m here to earn a living not to buy into your religious propaganda, plus I’m an atheist.
Should have kept your mouth shut
I started as a pharmacy tech trainee about 2 months ago. We pack pills for senior and long-term care centers. The work isn't hard, sort of relaxing in a way. I work 40 hours a week and can kind of choose my own hours. I absolutely love it, and I get paid more than I did working retail ($13.50 compared to $11.50). I started at the same time as this young boy. He is friendly but very snobby. He comes from a well-off family. He doesn't really have to work because his parents pay for everything for him, just wanted a foot in the door to be a pharmacist. He does a lot of “humble bragging” because of his advantages. For example; his parents bought him a new Accord with all the bells and whistles when he graduated high school. He is now talking about how he wants his parents…
The long and the short
The Long and Short Of it all, What time is spent In places where you try to earn Try to live Try to make rent I’ve learned These Irksome thoughts live rent free In my mind I hope they too have to spend Some hard earned time One bath, one bed The simple place to lay one’s head To be led To believe one must work Until they’re dead Spaces between filled with life Filled with want, love and strife A small hallway that leads to a nook An electric range, a fridge with food to cook This closet barely fits The clothes I need to wear And those I dont On the floor laid bare Twelve months go far too fast None of these places are meant to last I will fill them with the me That must And watch As my lease goes past This one has a…
McDonald’s made me a Marxist
not wanting to work
so what do I do if I don't want a career but want to thrive in life? I want to be able to move out of my dad's house and afford things that make me happy but how can I do that if I find no satisfaction from working? and I can't just do any job and get through the day and do what I want after because I've tried that and I get depressed then suicidal. I have no clue what I could do. I'm 22 and i just want to be happy.
So I have been working with this company for about 6 months and it started out as this full medium sized office of about 50+ people. Now I can probably only count half and the size difference is noticeable. Our office is somewhat large, so all I see is a see of empty cubicles. Afaik there haven't been any lay offs. What does this suggest about my company?
Applied for a office clerk job near me that wouldn't be too much more then what I do now but pays nearly $6 more then what I get now. I get a email a few days later asking to arrange a time to talk about to hr position I applied for. I don't think it was supposed to be an interview but more just feeling the waters the see if I'd fit the role. Fast forward a week and a half later of rescheduling the phone call I get asked to call this person's office number instead of them calling me. I thought this was weird but thought I'd oblige them just to see what happens. At this point I'd already pretty much decided that if they wanted to reschedule again I'd just not reply and move on. The time comes to call this person but it takes 3 tries…
