I live in Florida and my buddy just told me his wife, who im also friends with, that works at Rural King, has had to work without air conditioning for over 4 months because the management team chose to take their bonus money over repairing the A/C, apparently at RK any repair costs forfeit the bonuses management can get? Chime in if this is wrong but this is the info I was given. Not sure how the background shit works at RK, I don't work there, but it sounds completely fucked off and I mentioned maybe she should try contacting a local union. My manager is a good man. I've come to realize that he as a manager is just as burned out and depressed as I am. But he still tries to get me to do his job. It's little things that I CAN do, but it takes me away from the big things I HAVE to do. The other day, he asked me about a little thing. “Do you want to do this, or…” I smiled at him, and said, “No, sir. I believe in you, and trust that you don't need me to do this.” He can be a butt, but he's also really good and reminds me CONSTANTLY that I need to take care of my health.

I put in my 2 weeks today. My company is big on monthly pay and timesheets(I’m salary exempt). Tomorrow is the first of the month. They scheduled an 8:30AM Teams interview to fire me tomorrow thinking I wouldn’t be on site yet. If I work in the office before the 8:30 call, do they have to give me insurance for the month and my wage for the time worked before the meeting?

Karen recently told me in a verbal confrontation that she does not like me because I am not a “particularly hard worker.” When I asked her why she felt this way, she told me that it was because I was “never at my desk” and “took a break in the morning and afternoon” on top of lunch. For the record, the “never being at my desk” is referring to the several times a day I get up to go to the bathroom. I have IBS and a medical condition that requires I drink more than a gallon of water per day. HR has paperwork that tells them this and I have an ADA accommodation for it. So a little background. This is not my personal story, but I feel like many of you can empathize with me how unsettling and disgusting this is. My coworker just got back from his birthday weekend today. He had this planned for weeks ahead to just relax. But things were not right at first when he got back, as he did not come into work for close to a week beforehand. I asked him what was wrong, and he was extremely melancholy. His father had just passed away, and he had just buried him over the weekend. And this is where his story made my blood boil. Apparently his father was at his job, and while going about his day, he suddenly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. Internal bleeding. The doctors was able to get him to a stable condition, but he was not cleared for release yet.…

I can afford to take a few months hiatus from my job as I barely have any, not finding the word I want so I'll say, financial responsibilities. But I can't unless I quit or get fired? They give me 1 week off a year paid(and I had to use it as sick days 1 month into the year), I can ask for unpaid time off but am not likely to get it (especially consecutively) I look forward to getting sick, its the only excuse I get to stay home for a week or more. At this point I just wanna get fired and take my time applying for new jobs and only accept one when I finally get bored of being stuck at home.
