Was told I’d be called back shortly, but it’s already been 6 hours.

Applied for a office clerk job near me that wouldn't be too much more then what I do now but pays nearly $6 more then what I get now. I get a email a few days later asking to arrange a time to talk about to hr position I applied for. I don't think it was supposed to be an interview but more just feeling the waters the see if I'd fit the role. Fast forward a week and a half later of rescheduling the phone call I get asked to call this person's office number instead of them calling me. I thought this was weird but thought I'd oblige them just to see what happens. At this point I'd already pretty much decided that if they wanted to reschedule again I'd just not reply and move on. The time comes to call this person but it takes 3 tries…

My boss wants me to work on a day we normally have off.

I work in Ontario, Canada, doing a 13-hour shift 3 days a week, Mon-Wed. We’ve got a Monday holiday coming up soon, and we’ve been told that we’re expected to work Thursday, “to make up for the lost day of production.” Anyone know if there is a good way to say no to the work day, or to ask for extra pay? I feel like they’re basically asking me to work part of my weekend.

How to tell my boss I’m not doing as Development plan? I was offered to climb the the ladder and fill out a document. After not receiving the raise promised, I have zero interest.

I was promised a raise to get me where I deserve to be after being ignored. HR and Finance had other plans. I was given what would be a solid raise if I was being paid accordingly but I’m not. My raise was smaller than my last one and I am just now finally at the entry level salary for my position but I am in my 10th year. I was done with this company over a year ago but got a new amazing manager and figured I’d give it one last shot. My manager did an amazing job and improved so much. In that year I also took classes and built my resume since the job is remote and I can do it with my eyes closed. Well raises came and it was a big disappointment. I was offered to climb the ladder and just do a development plan…

No calling out allowed while boss is on vacation

My boss just announced that he will be going on a two week vacation next month to the Bahamas and that while he's gone, no one is allowed to call out of a shift for any reason. I work at a small coffee shop as a barista and work there is extremely stressful. Everyone except my boss receives minimum wage. We have only been open for three months and crises still happen every day. My boss is there almost every day (though usually not during the morning when I work, because he prefers to sleep in). He's going on the vacation to celebrate how well he believes the business is going. This is probably a bad idea, but if the place burns down in his absence, I don't care. The problem is that we are literally forbidden from calling out for any reason during that time period. I mean, I…
