Just ranting here I guess.
I work at a donut shop. I’m 1 of 6 employees that work here, and I work full 40 hours out of the week. This hasn’t even been the hottest here in California. In fact this week has been pretty nice weather wise. But not here where I work. As of me typing this it is 92 degrees in here. It’s been like this all week. The owner knows it’s hot and doesn’t care. I’m the only one that works in the afternoon so nobody else complains about the heat because when I get to work it’s barely barable at a 87 or 88. But as the day goes by it gets hotter. Yesterday when I left at 8pm, it was 95inside the store. Ontop of that they want/expect me to use the oven to make things that we need.
I’ve already complained and they don’t care. I get rebutted with “yea cuz it’s hot outside”
I’ve tried complaining to oscha and that did nothing but made my coworkers kind of bitter towards me for tryin to report the owner/management.
I’ve spent my whole work week sitting in front of a plug in fan for roughly 8 hours. I lie and tell customers I don’t have ice for cold drinks and that I can’t make sandwiches cuz my fridge is broken. Is that fucked up? I feel like it’s not fair that I have to work in this heat so it’s only fair they lose money too?
