My boss on the day he fired me: “You’re costing me too much money!” Two years later, I discovered that he’s downsized his business significantly

Strange that I'm still costing him money 2 years after I was gone! The entire time I worked for this psycho I was shat on for every misfortune his business had. My job title wasn't even related to money, but somehow I was costing him hundreds of dollars a day in mistakes. It also didn't help that he was basically an absentee boss, only showing up half the day and only showing up to yell at us without giving us any guidance on the “correct” way to do things. On the day he let me go he told me that something I did had cost him $3,000. In my defense I was just doing everything he told me to do, even using templates he set up. But whatever, he did me a favor. For a while I internalized a lot of grief about this job. Did I REALLY cost him…

Did I REALLY cost him that much money? Was I REALLY causing his business to fail?

My question was answered. Two years later almost everyone who worked there when I was there jumped ship or was fired. According to my ex-boss's Facebook he was renting a new business space that was significantly smaller than the one he had. He also had a post saying he sold his truck and was without a car for the time being.

tl;dr: Ex-boss said I cost him money and let me go. Two years later he was still hemorrhaging money and downsized. I wonder if it was my fault after all, or if it came from management? I'll let you decide.
