Reschedule?

For background I currently work blue collar but have a college degree. I had an in at a finance company and decided to see if I could jump on an opportunity to get out of the field as the physical stress of my job has started getting to me. So I sent in my resume and immediately get a call the next business day. Awesome. The manager on the phone asks about my background and tells me about the job. He informs me they expect at least a bachelors degree since this is a documentation position and I tell him I have my BA. Then he tells me that the starting pay is $23,000 A YEAR. He quickly follows up with “but with commission and overtime you’ll be making about as much as you do now!” (I make $50,000 a year and would never believe that a commission rate outside of sales would be anything as close to nearly 100% of the base salary.) Guy schedules me for a zoom interview for 15 MINUTES after the time I told him I walk through my front door after work. This would not even give me enough time to shower.

At this point I just want to do the interview for the lols and to see if they’d try lowballing even further. I email the manager and ask if the interview can be pushed back another 15 minutes to allow me time to get ready after work. “No problem!”

I rush home the following day and take the quickest shower of my life. I groom my face and hair and put on a suit jacket and tie for the virtual interview, excited to see how adamantly they try to sell this crappy opportunity. I log on and join the meeting link. I wait… and wait… and wait…. 20 minutes later I say fuck it and turn off my computer. I email the manager and let them know that I was no longer interested in the position after nobody joined the interview. The best part? The manager responded that they forgot to include the interviewers’ emails in the meeting message. The email ended with an offer to reschedule the interview.

I’ll pass.
