So basically Girl Scouts IG posted this cute little picture calling for fair pay for women. Which….goes with the brand and okay cool.
They do fight for fair pay in other ways, etc.
BUT. They pay their seasonal employees less than minimum wage. Especially their camp employees-glorified volunteers.
It is the most toxic dehumanizing place I have EVER worked-I may edit with some highlights of that shithole later.
As far as the shit that applies to the post-they would require overtime but not paid….when you said there was no way you could complete your assignments in 40 hours They said that nobody could and quit complaining. They have horrendous turnover. They would give goals that were literally impossible to meet-and your yearly raise was determined by your percentage in reaching goals.
By impossible I mean…they increased the goal in my district by 300% from one season to the next and when I pointed out that it was lunacy they said they didn't expect it met immediately…it was the 5 year goal!!
Okay but I'm still expected to hit it this year?
That only scrapes the tip. My friends and I could write a damn book about this place.
Which sucks because as an organization they do good things for girls….and it's sad that the organization is going to mangle it into the ground.
People are tearing them up in the comments for the hypocrisy. I love to see it!
