My wife is a librarian at a private charter elementary school in the Las Vegas area, I don’t want to say the name because I’m afraid she could face backlash. Last school year all of the teachers and employees had 14 days of vacation/sick days. When they started this school year they cut everyone’s vacation to only 7 fucking days. I was pissed because I thought that that shit wasn’t right at all. She wasn’t that upset about it but I honestly can’t believe more teachers at that school didn’t walk out because of it. To top it off my wife only make about 13 dollars an hour. 13 bucks an hour around here is less than people at fucking In n out make starting. I coached her into asking for a raise because she does a lot more than just put books back on the shelf, she actually does a lot with the kids. When she asked about a raise the principle and the HR people said they couldn’t give her a raise because of the current market rates of jobs like hers. I was furious and a few weeks later my wife told me the principle hired an assistant that started at 20 dollars an hour. I’m not sure how this school makes money because tuition is free, but I’m willing to bet they are greedy fuckers. She says she stays for the kids which I respect but at the same time the “leadership” at that place SUCKS.
Edit: just wanted to say I’ve been lurking this sub for a bit and I find my self agreeing with a lot of the bashing of all of these dog shit corporations.
