Future Employer doesn’t want me to put in two weeks

Essentially, I had an interview with an employer that would offer me significantly more pay for a less strenuous job than where I currently work. However, I was told that I will miss out on the position if I give full two weeks notice to my current employer (basically, they can wait a week tops). While I am not happy at my current job, I feel pressured by the “one week max” deadline. I also have a decent relationship with the manager at my current job, and don’t want to just throw a one week notice at him. Would greatly appreciate any advice regarding this situation. Should I just explain the situation to my current employer and put in one week?
