I've been out of work since August and have been applying like a mad man ever since. My industry is always looking for qualified candidates so it should be easy to find a new job. However, I just submitted my 100th application and a wave of depressed just hit me. I've had 10 interviews and only 1 has resulted in a part time gig teaching music that pays about 200 a week. I used to make 100,000 a year.
I've been in 3rd and 4th rounds of interviews only to be ghosted. I've been asked to do hours of free work as a “test” only to get ghosted after finishing the work. I've been told jobs are remote only to then get told I have to drive over an hour to and from an office. I've been offered 30k a year after a decade of experience.
I might lose my house and my car if I can't get a job immediately.
