Just a reminder about Small Business Saturday.

Next weekend is “Small Business Saturday” and I always like to give people a friendly reminder that small does not automatically = good or better than big box stores. This whole thing has become such a lame, embarrassing marketing gag for a lot of places. A lot of small businesses are no different in terms of structure from a lot of the bigger organizations out there. Having worked for multiple small family businesses, a lot of them wouldn’t think twice about squeezing their employees for as much as they can get out of them. Their main driver is to make as much money as possible, only on a smaller scale. So many small businesses are ran by very dedicated, hard-working hourly employees with little assistance from the ones raking in all the dough. Just some food for thought.
