I'm asking here because I have no idea where else to ask. My past employer took my information (name, social, drivers license info, address, etc) but did not have me fill one out – I was never given a form. This was my second job ever, so I didn't know I was supposed to fill one out until I transitioned over to my third job. They took taxes out of my paycheck, and we used Square scheduling and payroll. I'm wondering if they took my information and filled one out for me but that also feels… illegal. The business has since shut down, but what do I do if I didn't fill out an I9? Will this fuck with my taxes?
Edit: I reached out to my ex boss asking what I should do, and they did not reply.
