How would you diplomatically respond to this request? One interview in and…..

After one 1 hour interview with 2 people, I was sent a follow up text and email the next business day requesting the following. No mention of compensation for the multiple projects/plans being asked of me, just an additional request to meet as soon as possible to review and discuss my project/plans. We have not yet discussed compensation for the role but I was given a job description. Pay did not come up during the first preliminary meeting as it felt premature and possibly inappropriate at that juncture as I was not sure whom of/if the two people I met with was/were authorized to discuss/offer/approve such. Plus I wouldn’t want someone who would be lateral to I knowing my compensation negotiations. Requested of me was – 1. Requested of me was – 1. Create a plan on a quarterly campaign designed to educate and engage our current client base. This does not need to include marketing materials, but should include strategic concepts. 2. Create a customized marketing asset designed to engage a client on a special offer around one of our mid-tier services. 3. Provide a high level overview on what your plans would be around a media plan. As part of this please include an example of a blitz media schedule for a specific month (any month) within the next vear. 4. Review our website and media sites then provide thoughts on things you would improve/change.

I don’t feel this much should be researched, created and completed prior to an official offer of employment and acceptance of an agreed upon financial compensation package suitable for the role, my experience and skillset. Someone should begin and complete onboarding, become emerged in the culture and completion of training.

Note that I bring well over 10 years experience to this role and have exemplary references, as they are aware. Preliminary interview did involve discussion of my past experiences and projects, including some planning and creations, and some examples were shown.

How would you proceed with following up on this request? It is a very established company that has very accredited staff. I feel asking for this without compensation during the hiring process especially before we’ve even determined our salary views for the role align, could result in me being taken advantage of in the future pending acceptance if it even comes to that.
