I have two kids in school – one in elementary and one in high school. I've become convinced over the years that the amount of (useless) homework that teachers assign just normalizes lack of work-life balance and brainwashes us into thinking we're supposed to work all the time.
I consider school to be my kids' jobs at this point in their lives. Why should I expect them to put in 6 hours of work in the classroom, and then come home and have to do even more work?
No, home time is for family, rest, relaxation and fun. I don't care if my kids ever do homework again if they grow up with a healthy sense of balance between work and self.
