Laid off from tech, tried construction, was genuinely happy at work for once

I literally rewatched office space the day before I got laid off from my startup. I've been working relentlessly to try to get a new job and having a rough time of it even though I'm highly qualified. Today I worked with an old friend on a tile laying job to make ends meet and learn some skills so I can fix things around my own house and help out neighbors and friends with their places. Just good teamwork, working with our hands, and a finished product to show at the end. I truly understand the line at the end of office space where he was like “This ain't so bad huh? Makin' bucks, gettin' exercise, workin' outside.” It felt good to finally do some work that made me happy. We sang along to some music while we worked and we even got to fuck off work before the sun started setting. I understand this isn't how all construction jobs are but I'm glad this one was chill. I just wanted to share because I had a genuinely good day for the first time in a month or so
