Please help me feel less guilty

I left teaching in May to become my husband's primary caregiver. I decided to get a part-time job to help pay for my health insurance. The job is great and I like what I do but they hired me at minimum wage. I have a degree in education and 15+ years working with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. I thought, given that all my skills apply to the job that I could negotiate a raise once I got hired. Well, I did get a raise but only because they raised the minimum wage by 87 cents. So I got a 87 cent raise. So now I'm looking for a new job because despite my boss being a great guy and often praising the work I do, it doesn't pay the fucking bills. But I feel guilty for looking and I'm struggling with how to tell him.
