HELP! PTO refused Lowe’s, “30 days, schedule posted”

I am FT and I requested PTO on the fifth(1/5/23), after googling how much notice I should give and I read if it's a shorter vocation, give a max of a two week notice. Other articles say 2-3 week notices for requesting vocation too. I know that generally a 30 day notice is better, but I've had a lot on my plate and I have ADHD which makes initiating any task for me a struggle. Any PTO that I've accrued over the the past year also will expire on the 28th or 30th, and I only recently learned this last mid or late December. I requested Hol and Vac both for 1/20/23 – 1/27/23 to see my joyfriend(partner) in person for the first time ever after not having done so ever since knowing them, which has been over 10 years. I know someone in my department was recently asking for one of my days recently and I know he has a lot on his plate that he is trying to prepare and plan for. I figure he might want some of the days I requested off, and I had another co-worker offer to cover some days for me if necessary as well.

I've trying to really squeeze in and make this trip work and have been talking about visiting my partner to anyone willing to listen since the beginning of December.

Also supposedly Lowe's policy requires that you give a 30 day notice but I was never directly informed about this when hired or any time after by a manager. I also figured my requested PTO would be permitted since it's been a tight time slot.

I just could use any tips, advice, or anyone willing to share their experiences and how I can advocate and defend myself. Please! Thank you.
