Last week I took a home Covid test and it came up positive.
The company I am currently employed at offers 0 sick days. Bills are a reality therefor I felt I still had to go to work though I felt miserable and was concerned about the possibility of infecting my coworkers. I did my best to avoid anyone while there. The environment being rather open and large, making it not so difficult.
Further context for the company:
• the last individual to put in his two weeks notice got fired on the spot.
• vacation days(if you have them) cannot be used concurrently because “we need you”
• they change the time on tickets/estimates for the employee to screw you out of commission while charging the customer for more labor hrs, though you never see those hrs.
• you are suppose to get vacation after 1yr. 5 days. But now vacation is handed out on Jan 1st. So if you start in may, you should have vacation on the following may. But you’ll now have to wait till Jan.
• my coworker whom has worked there for 8yrs, hadn’t asked for a raise in 3 yrs, then asked for one and was offered a dollar.
This isn’t even a complete list of my complaints about this multimillion dollar mom and pop company that has zero employee appreciation.
Not looking for advice or anything. Just wanted to share.
I was called by a competitor and they offered me a 33% raise for a position that requires less work/stress. Has 5 sick days off rip, better benefits, and more vacation.
Just wanted to share. Can’t wait to just walk out of this failing company that drives anyone off with a lick of experience due to their underpayment and disgusting work environment.
