How to deal w/ micromanagement in the workplace?

I, (25F) work in an office with a small team. We just got a new assistant manager. Almost immediately upon getting the job started to micromanage me via email. I’d been lucky enough that our manager has trusted me to do my job independently, so the new assistant manager asking for step-by-step, minute-by-minute updates and the need to explain to me how to do my job when I did not ask for help is very off-putting. I reached out to her via email to (politely) tell her that I feel micromanaged and that I’m capable of doing my job on my own. I received no response in writing or in person for a week, until yesterday when she decided her new permanent space was right beside me. Now she has doubled down on the micromanaging. How do I handle this?
