Boss won’t compensate for worked holidays.

So I work for a small DBE company, and there are no more than 5 people working here. Time keeping isn’t a real thing and if we show up and do work, we are paid. PTO is kept track of on a whiteboard and we progress from there. Employer wanted to touch base on why I had more PTO than he had expected and I explained to him that they were added up from travel days when he gave me the next day off after coming home, but I inform him I would still come in and save the day for PTO.

He had requested us to work on December 26th 2022 and January 2nd 2023, 2 observed holidays since the days before landed on Sunday. All this totaled to more days than what he had thought initially.

He then requested that I keep a list of 2023 holidays so that the company isn’t confused on when to take days off. After doing some research, I found we had worked on 2 holidays in 2022 and I informed him of this. He has since refused to add those days to our PTO.

I’m a little annoyed because I told him that it is illegal to not compensate work done, especially after acknowledging we had worked those days. I’m just not sure where to go from here.
