Is my Manager’s Favoritism Unlawful?

So to give a little preface I work at a small Full Service gas station in a Boomer-populated ritzy area. Only such station around and our main customer base reflects that crowd. Two people run the store per shift, a cashier and a pumper. It can get quite cold outside with this Northern weather, reaching sub zero temperatures for $11 an hour. We are allowed to accept tips, under the table. When I first started I thought it was awesome and asked to pump more often. I was told by my Manager that I couldn't do that when I started because it'd be unfair to the others. Cool, no problem. But as time went on I started to see through it all and the tips slowly faded away. I have dogshit luck with them anymore, and barely make 20 bucks a day regardless of holidays or weather.

Without trying to sound age-ist, the old heads are the absolute worst. They are so entitled, so horrifically rude and nasty and demanding its ridiculous. They'll stick their credit cards in your face before you make it around the drivers side and bark at you to fill it up. Then wont even say thank you let alone look at you.

Regardless the others seem to have no trouble getting good days to pump on, and always make bank. No matter how nice I am. Enough about the job rant.

The now Assistant Manager at our work is the Manager's Son's best friend since childhood. He's worked there a while and does good work and probably deserved the spot. The problem lies in the fact that he used to pump and now isn't required to ever pump simply because he doesn't like it. So my manager, she schedules him to be on register every day, even before he was assistant manager and never makes him pump.

Her second favorite at work is unrelated to her, but was hired at the same time as me. She is really buddy buddy with this guy and has him permanently on 1st shift in their private 1st shift VIP club. He gets to pump every single day because that's what he wants. The same thing I was told was unfair to everyone else.

Im sick and tired of kissing old peoples asses in blizzards fighting sub zero weather for close to minimum wage in my state with no tips and extreme disrespect. All the while her favorites don't have to do anything they don't want.
