So, today I put in a request for one day off next week. I figured its a week in advance it should be approved. I asked the manager why the schedule for last year was up on the bulletin board and not 2023. He went out and took a look.
“Oh I don’t know where (so and so) puts the template.” He said to look on the schedule of all the employees. He pulled it down and showed me that the start date of the scheduled employees started 1/13/23 to (wait for it…) 2/23/23!!! I was like we can’t ask for time off for over a month and a half!???? I said “well, I’ll just call out then.” He went into like this panic or something and said “you don’t have to do that you can switch dates with someone” I was like, “nah Ill just call out.” He got all bent outta shape , “that’s just wrong! Messing with company time.”
Im like if you have so much control of our time I’ll make the decision to call out. I don’t know, am I just over reacting?
