Call to action to preserve the right to work remote

I honestly have no idea where to post this, but this seems like a sub full of people that are frustrated by the corporate status quo, so I think this is a good place to start. Basically, during the pandemic we all shifted to nearly universal remote work. Many employers are working hard to claw back those policies and get people in corporate offices. Let me skip the whole pro/con of remote work conversation, skip any data, skip any benefit to either side, and simply say this: I believe if it’s possible to do a job remotely, we should be empowered to make the decision to be in office or not.

So, if we can agree that this is worth fighting for, here’s what I propose.

Let’s find a date on the calendar. Let’s rile up as many people as we can throughout the country (as I’m US based, and don’t know if this would be successful in my own country let alone the world). Let’s get these people to commit to walking out of their in-office job at the date and time set, and prove to employers that they must listen to us.

I think for something like this to be successful, it would have to be widespread and get news coverage, and would have to have some short term impact on the stock market or productivity or something.

Is this something we can do? Can we convince all people that prefer remote work but also those that support at least having a choice? Can we make this a workers’ rights issue and force the conversation?
