Toxic work environment means no 2 weeks notice.

I worked for a company called WIS International they were an inventory company so we would go into stores before they open and count all the stuff on the shelves. The job itself wasn't too bad but the people there were insufferable and so was managment. You didn't get a certain number of hours a week they just put you on a schedule and you would have to show up. We also did stores far away so we would do stores is Salt Lake city which is like 2 and a half hours drive and would also do overnight jobs in like Boise and stuff where they would put us in hotel rooms. Because we were far away and would have to get to stores early, often times we would meet up to get in the company van at like 2 am or earlier. Multiple times I would be on…

Multiple times I would be on a schedule and show up and no one would be there and I would have no notice so I got up at 2 for no reason which was super annoying.

They would also did everything in their power to not let us have our 30 minute lunch because the jobs had a progress counter and if we were at like 75 percent done by the time we would usually get lunch then they wouldn't have to give us a break for lunch. Convienently they also put the slowest part of the inventory, the clothes, at the very end so even though we've only been there for like half the total time we're going to spend there the progress reads that we're almost done and thus they don't have to give us lunch.

Also one time we were in salt lake and had a long job but then another crew who was doing a Sears or something was way behind so without our input we were forced to go to that store and help finish there because we didn't have our own cars to drive because it was out of town.

We ended up working like 13 hours that day and our van driver was having a hard time staying awake during the actual job so one of the guys talks to the manager on site and tells him that he doesn't think that she'll be able to make the drive home and that they might have to book a hotel room ( which would cost the company money) but he says “too bad, get in the van” so the other guy had to talk to our driver the whole way back to try to keep her awake. That was the last straw, I had a job scheduled for a few days later and I just never showed up, I got a call from my boss, didn't answer and skipped another job and got another call and that was it, no other calls after that.
