Took job at adult store, quit after 2 shifts

I felt the need to share this because it was such a weird experience. I needed a second job and none of the other places I've applied to got back to me. Was offered $13 an hour to work at an adult toy store. It wasn't the products or the customers that chased me away, it was my coworkers and management. I watched as one coworker openly objectified female customers. In one moment, he was crouching on the floor and staring at a woman's ass, not even 10 feet away from her, his mouth open. I stared in disbelief at how non discreet he was about it. My other coworker (a woman in her 40's) saw it too and just laughed like this was just a guy being a guy, y'know, totally normal behavior. On one hand, I get it, it's an adult toy store, social norms are a little different, but I wasn't expecting this level of immaturity. In another instant, I was walking up to the register to take an order from a woman who happened to be wearing a low-cut black dress. My coworker, who had been much further away from the register then I was, raced towards the register and practically knocked me out of the way as he said, “I got this one.” He spent the majority of the transaction leaning very far over the counter and staring at the customer's breasts. I felt sick to my stomach the whole shift.

Management is another story. When I was hired I was told that my first few shifts would be training shifts. Since it's a retail position, I expected hands on training because that's what I've had in the past. I learn better if someone is showing me how to use the register versus reading a document, anyways, so I've generally had success with retail jobs. The 'training' on my first day involved my manager giving me the name of a website, told me to go to this website and read the training documents in my free time. These documents were so convoluted that I couldn't finish reading them. I read the same page 3 times and still had no clue what it was talking about. I directly asked my manager if they could provide more hands on type training. I said something along the lines of, “I'm more of a hands on learner. The self-guided training material you provided isn't really conducive to my learning style.” Without skipping a beat they responded, “Well, we don't really do that here. If this place isn't your style, you don't have to work with us.” You're right boss, I quit.
