So, I have been working at a high level advertising firm, we have a team of 4 which should be 6 but they aren’t able to get/hire the top 2 senior roles in the team. This has not affected our work as we manage stuff and have been able to smoothly run things. Now my immediate higher up (GH) who isnt exactly my boss but is asked to run things in the absence of the top 2 people, is not that social and cannot really give feedback to a person in the team who isnt carrying her weight.
All new and data related tasks which require speed and dexterity are given to me which I am ok with as I get to learn new things almost every other day.
The problem arises when I ask for fairness in work delegation, as always my higher up (GH) suggests that you are faster and better and tske it on. It slightly makes me angry that the GH cant speak out or take the effort to train that person where required or just doesn’t want to.
This is not enough reason to quit, but damn am I pissed.
On a side note I am friendly with the GH(and really no one in the office is that close) & maybe this could be his way of thinking that I wont be infuriated by this. I have made a decision today to not be friendly and treat him like a coworker. I guess isolation would make him understand, correct me if I am wrong people.
